The cost of the holiday includes your return flight with bmi (British Midland International) from London Heathrow, internal flights as described in the itinerary, all accommodation in hotels (as detailed in the itinerary), lunches and dinners, transport and tips to most local staff. The hotels are given in the itinerary to indicate the standard we are aiming for. Tourism is still in its infancy, so hotels vary a great deal, but all the hotels we have identified provide attached facilities. The cost does not include drinks, laundry, camera permits, phone-calls, and personal purchases. British nationals do need a visa to holiday in Ethiopia (available in advance): the holiday cost does not include your visa fees and the small tip you can leave before checking out of your bedroom. The tour is accompanied by an English speaking local guide and British tour leader. The tour has a minimum size of 9 and a maximum size of 22. The itinerary is published in good faith though changes may be forced on us by adverse weather, poor roads, or local advice. In the event that the governments of Ethiopia or the UK announce any new taxes these will be passed on to you. At this stage the flight timings must be regarded as provisional since bmi don't announce their flights till December 2011. Once we have received our minimum number of bookings we will write to confirm that the tour is going ahead. In order to book we ask that you return a completed booking form together with your deposit of £295 (made payable to Eastern Approaches). Eastern Approaches are registered with the Civil Aviation Authority and have an ATOL number 9445. It is very important at the time of booking to alert us to any variations to the flights that you may want (for example flying back later) since airlines are increasingly unwilling to accept changes later on, or may impose a heavy charge for doing so. A connecting flight from within the UK should be possible from some airports (with luggage checked through to the end of the journey). It is a condition of booking that you have your own travel insurance to cover medical emergencies, interruptions to travel arrangements caused by adverse weather, and travel delays.
